David is a self-taught film score composer and a singer songwriter, an unusual combination that stemmed from both his natural disposition and working with childhood friend, filmmaker David Gorden Green.
The latest film he’s composed for, Gentlemen Broncos, is in theaters now and his second album, Belly of the Lion, comes out on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. It is phenomenal.
In our interview I got the story on his quirky band name, and this story involves a mouse costume. He also talks about overcoming hurdles in creativity, something I specifically asked him in hopes of inspiring young musicians (and maybe some older ones, too).
