Episode 58 – George Motz

George is the filmmaker behind the documentary Hamburger America.  This 2005 film, and it’s subsequent spun off book in 2008, has made George one of America’s foremost hamburger experts.  He’s switching from turf to surf and is doing a film on oysters this year for the New York City Food Film Festival, an event that he co-created with Harry Hawk four years ago.  It takes place this June 23 – 27 in “non-traditional screening venues” all over the city, and is a multi-sensory event; you will be able to eat the food as you watch it on screen!

In this interview George also gives his quick-and-dirty tips for the best burger and gives us his picks for some of the best burgers in Brooklyn.

This podcast was so awesome! Can’t wait to check out the festival and get to as many as possible. And yes, I want a pig ear sandwich.
